What color/pattern can I expect?

I've got a mated pair of clowns and they spawned the other night. The female is a standard orange/white ocellaris, and the smaller male is a black/white ocellaris. If the offspring survive, does anyone know what kind of color pattern I can expect them to be?

I'm not sure this clutch will make it as I don't have the rotifer/mysis infrastructure set up yet, but I'm considering getting it set up for the next batch.

While you know the phenotype of both parents, you do not have clarity on the genotype of either and whether the coloration genes are dominant or recessive. But for over grossly simplifying the analysis if you have BB versus bb you will have homogeneous Bb. More likely, however, your genotype is Bb and Bb you would have BB bb Bb Bb where B is dominant and b is recessive.

so in layman's terms, they could either be orange/white, black/white, or some splotchy combination?

Does anyone know of a chart/site/easy to read info with regards to this? Example- I have one true perc and a blacker ice, what percentage of the babies will be what color? I have been looking for something like this for months now to no avail.

The key is to find out what genes are heterozygous and what genes are homozygous and go from there.. I would be interested in a library of traits and their types as well..

Hi everybody,
I am very pleased to participate in this forum for the first time. I have experience of several years in the cultivation of marine fishes like sea bass, turbot, sea bream and sole. But I have always been keen on marine reef species, so two years ago I began to breeding clownfishes, mainly orange ocellaris. In my system I have enough space to mantain 8 pairs of broodstock. I have 4 pairs of orange ocellaris, 1 pair of tomato clownfish, and two small black ocellaris.
Last night I lost one of the black ocellaris.
My question is: Can I put a black ocellaris and a orange ocellaris together? Is the reproduction possible? I think so, because they are both from the same species. Wich kind of pattern will it come out in the juveniles? Has anyone got any experience in the field?
Thank you!

i really wish we had the clownfish genotypes down like we do with most snake morphs. knowing which ones are dominant, recessive, incomplete dominant, and so on. would make breeding so much more specific/predictable and fun lol.

also i agree with mocha as what you will likely get
