If I was a betting man I would say the Caribbean and Eastern Pacific angels are rarer and therefore more desireable in Asia. Queens, blues, french, grey, rock beauties, passers, all have to be rarer in Asia than Indo-Pac fish.

They would have made my list except they are anything but common in the trade. I am actually old enough to remember the day when they were available at a decent price.
Bigger species tend to be more popular here (Mainland and HK) than smaller angels : centropyge, geni's etc. Take a look at Khail Ng's page here http://www.sealife.com.hk and you'll get a good idea. Take a check under Previous Shipment Reference.
Here is Bangkok "sought after" species are pretty similar to elsewhere in the world. As Kahuna Tuna mentioned, fish from tropical america command a higher price, not due to rarity, but rather shipping. As they are more expensive, they are less popular - except for nice specimens of the usual favourites like H. ciliaris, from say Brazil.
Dinner plate sized blue ring angels, koran, etc. and large emporers, blue face, etc. are quite common and comparatively very cheap - because the shipping and taxes within the ASEAN are cheap.
