What coral to get nice movement?

I'm new to softies or lps and i'm wondering what would give my tank lots of movement.

pulsing xenia, but they grow like weeds, so just be ready for that.

LOL yes i should have added that i don't want a coral that would take over my tank. It's a shame because i like pulsing xenias

Elegance, Torch corals, frogspawn, Duncan's and Hammer corals all are Lps corals that look cool with a gentle flow.

I am not a fan of xineas because they can be hard to control. I had some nice lavender colored ones that look nice. however they grew like a weed and almost added another chore every month.

Are clove polyps invasive?

I guess, I think it depends on the tank. Xenia wont grow at all in my tank, my clove i got is not doing great either. Brains and acans on the other hand do fine same with mushrooms.

I think invasive is a subjective term. If you like a coral why not have a tank full. If you had sps grow out and fill your entire tank would you call it invasive? Xenia and some other softies typically just grow quicker than others so people deem them invasive.

Pretty much any soft polyp can be invasive (xenia, GSP, cloves, palys). I've seen lots of tanks where blue cloves have taken over.

xenias, kenya's and GSP are all nice corals but when they take over a tank, its a real pest.
frogspawn and gorgonians are real nice.............elegance and goniopora also

Well for me invasive is when it doesn't allow you to have other corals. Even if the blue clove polyps are some of the nicest corals in my opinion, i wouldn't want a whole tank with just that in it

Cloves can take over a tank. Ive seen it. And I mean everywhere in the tank.

I can't wait for them to start growing in my tank. They are small and won't crowd my other coral when they do spread since they are only 1/4" or less tall

I'd love to get my hands on some blue cloves. All the frags I've seen so far were too expensive for what little you got, so I'll bide my time. We bought some green ones that are much taller than that about a month ago, and they already sent a runner off the frag onto the rock and grew another polyp.

I have blue cloves and they appear in the most random spots.
I do like them though. Haven't taken over yet.
Also Xenia. If you keep them high. You should be safe.
Same with cloves.
I keep my nicer zoas a little lower.

What I do with invasive corals is to isolate then on their own rock, that way if they start to get out of control I just have to take the rock out and trim, or even throw the rock away if needed.

I have a large green sinularia. It grows relatively quick, but doesn't spread out over your rockscape.
