Bbs is very nutrinal when the have their yolk sack still wich is within 6 hours after they hatch, after the yolk sack is gone then there isnt much nutrition left unless you feed them with selcon 1st.
Not really sure, ime it does seem to help them transision to dry foods better though, there have been plenty of successful breeders that do skip bbs though so it isnt nessasary
