What do anthias eat?

fish590a

newbie again
I bought anthias yesterday and I have no idea what to feed this guys. Can someone please tell me what they eat?

they usually eat mysid shrimps, but when feeding you should turn off the all the pumps so they have a chance to get to the food. HTH.

They only eat from the water column not the surface not the bottom so try to feed them food that stay suspended, flake food, meaty foods, mysids and enriched artemia.
They require several small feeds a day rather than one large one.

Where can I get mysid shrimps?
You might be able to find some in your LFS if not live at least frozen.

I have a pair of dispar, eat anything I throwing in the tank, flake formula 1, 2, frozen brine, frozen mysis. And I feed them once a day sometimes I skipped a few days. Henry, the keys is you have to make sure they eat before you buy or they will die.

yeah i just got 4 small ones from Tong's and they are doing great so far. when i'm buying fish from the fish store, i always ask them to feed them. when they're really stress, they will not eat.

You should try live (gut loaded) brine shrimp to get it to begin eating. You can buy volcanic shrimp also. I would add a pod -- live mysid and/or gammarus kit also. It helps if there are other friendly and eating fish in the system too.

Please please research a fish BEFORE bringing one home.

i got a school of lyretail anthias a month ago...they are all doing well.
what i do is two feedings a day.

Feed #1 - One pump of Liquidlife Cyclopeeze
Feed #2 - Mysis shrimp, ocean plankton
