What do asterinas eat? Gunk?

What do the non-coral-eater asterinas eat? Just gunk? Algae?
Kinda wondering if adding some would be beneficial. Plus, they look cool.

lol see my thread i just started…i will never have these guys again…i am buying a harley tomorrow if i can find one…save your money for snails…(stomella, cerith, nerite, trochus, nassarius) limpets and chitons are very nice to have and far more beneficial then asternias

I know some of them will eat corals, but my tank won't have any corals aside from a few inexpensive zooanthids and maybe a few mushroom corals. If one does happen to get that big, I can just toss him in the 'fuge.

Don't you mean toss "Them" in the fuge if you can find them all?

Odds are it'll be fine but asterinas WILL multiply. I'm breeding them in one of my tanks intentional and it's not that difficult and I don't even do anything special.
