These things have me totally perplexed at the moment...have not found a good article about them yet for aquariums.

One tiny bag at my LFS is $26!!!

Grrrrr.

I thought for something so smalll they would be cheap.

I was hoping to buy like 30 bags and disperse them in my sand.

If you set up a refugium with low flow a sand bed and a ball of cheato that has some pods. You'll have $100s of dollars worth in no time.

they usually just "show up" coming in on live rock i assume. my brothers tank is swarming with them where as mine has none (since i used old rock and his is fresh). if you have a reefer friend nearby with some you can ask for a few of his and theyll populate your refugium and spread into your tank

They come in LR. The more excess algae and food in tank the more there is. I almost have none---I have 3 wrasses in tank that hunts them....... :(

can I see them? how do I start them?

copopods belong to zooplankton--there are many varieties that are too small for you to see.
