I have five large turbo snails in my 20 high prop tank...and boy do these guys poop ALOT!...and its accumulating, my nitrates havnt rosen(YET!)...would the decay of there droppings increase nitrates?

What should I do about this potenital problem? is it a problem? what livestock will pick it up?

I already have 1 pepermint shrimp and small BLH...

Im starting to get aglea all of a sudden the tank has been set up for 5 months (6 months including cycle time)...although I recently added a bunch of corals..LR, and very small 2 domino damsels(less than 1 in.):D

any feedback would be extremly helpful...thanks

The poop isn't a problem at all. And don't try adding livestock to reduce nitrates, even if they are part of the cleaner crew. Any additional livestock will just add more nitrates. The best thing to do is let you Live Rock filtration take care of the poop.

Please specify on your algae problems. Is it hair algae, or brown algae? On the glass or the rock or both? What lighting do you have and what is your phosphate level?

So I shouldnt worry about the snail droppings? even if it looks like its accumulating all over in the sand? and on rocks? will my nitrates go up?...I have about 25lbs or LR in there:D

phosphate is at normality... nitrates at the moment are at 0, I have 80 watt PC 50/50 (10k/blue atinic) I run the lights 8 hours a day...its brown algea on the glass and on the prop pipeing...its sorta yellowish, and has little hair things commin off it:mixed:

thanks for feedback and help
