what do I need - first zoo

I am planning to get my first zoanthid very soon.

My question is: What things do I need to have around to properly care for these guys. What kind of food, additives or medications..etc.

Well first off buy from a reputable vendor or find someone local. Then when you receive the frag I suggest a thorough inspection and a dip to ensure no pest go in the tank with it. After that acclimate it to the lighting by starting it on the bottom and you should be good to go.

Good lighting and decent flow you will need for long term health and growth IMO.

What type lights are you running?

I am running T-5 lighting, 10k and actinic. So after the dip, there is nothing else that I need to do to them?

You may want to keep just to actinics for that day. I would also try to find out the lighting, and the depth placement of where they are coming from and eventually try to find that sweet spot in your tank.
