Sometimes if a Marine S pellet lands on one of my mushrooms... it will eat that.
I don't "feed" them though. I don't think most people do... if they get some food... they get some food.

Mine is in a 2.5 nano tank that has no fish, I was thinking I may need to spot feed was why I was asking. Do you think it would eat a frozen brine shrimp.

some of the "furry" ones like rhodactis and ricordia will capture food but most will do fine with light and nutrients in the water.

Mine will eat mysis and also cyclopeeze.

Mine will try to eat anything that falls on them but usually the crabs take it away from them. I feed my fish asst frozen foods and occassionaly I will turn off the pumps and use a baster to get food to all the various corals. Just before I do that though I'll throw a couple of small pellets on the opposite side of the tank and give all the crabs a chance to go fight over them while I feed the corals. I stand by and chase any crabs away with a stick until the corals have actually swallowed the food.
