What do think of my H. magnifica?

Hi everyone! I just wanted to share my recent purchase last week. I picked up this H. Magnifica and added it to my 135gal right in the middle of the tank on a rockscape. I am hoping it will be one of my centerpieces of the tank. It would be awesome if it hosts my 2 occelaris', but they don't seem interested in it.

Let me know what you guys think of the nem. His mouth is closed and he holds on to the rock pretty good. I tried feeding him a small piece of raw shrimp to see how his feeding response was and it took about 20 min to get the piece in his mouth from its tentacles.

They like super high flow and like to be as close to the light as possible. Yours looks good. Mines about 10" and i feed him every other day a whole medium shrimp in two pieces. My clowns would love to be in it but they cant because of the high flow.

Hmm... I wonder if that's the reason they like that corner. It has the least flow in the tank.

Negative. Percs and ocellaris are hosted by mags in nature with very high flow. In my systems, my clowns happily host my mags in face-melting flow. The nem should provide sufficient shelter from the flow for the clowns to be comfortable.

Very nice mag! I don't think the flow is an issue with the clowns cause my clowns took to my mag within 5 minutes and it gets blasted with flow, they rarely leave it unless to eat. My tank is smaller though (45g cube) so they couldn't miss it, maybe it's just taking longer for them to notice. Let nature take its course

I have a 5.5" female clown. She was in it for a week and when it moved up to high flow and light she wont get in it. She is 12 years old and been in every anenome ive had. Maybe its just her...idk.

The magnifica looks good. I've heard of clowns that are natural to anemones not go in immediately, though I've never had that experience. I'm sure your ocellaris will figure it out soon. The scent from the anemone (slime shed) is what attracts clowns to their host, so hopefully they will get a wiff of it soon.

Thanks for the reply everyone! Hopefully they get a whiff of the nem's pheromones soon. I caught one of the clowns eyeing the nem from different angles.

Anyways, I'm glad that my nem looks good to the more experienced eye! It's a wonderful creature and I'm hoping to have it for a long time!

Give it time, it took mine nine months to figure out it was a natural host. Second clown I added saw the first and went right in.
