What do you do with a dying fish??

Do you let it completely die, and get 1/2 eaten by crabs and snails or if you know its going to go, do you do it a favor and off it? Whats the best way to have a fish suffer less when its passing?

There are "humane" ways to euthanize a fish. IMO, it depends on the type/size of fish, and the efficiency of your clean-up crew. I've allowed fish the size of a medium foxface to be eaten by my crew. There was no trace after two days. I'd also ask what is wrong with the fish in question. Is it beyond hope of rescue?

window or grouper, both efficient and useful, plants get the needed nitrates or the grouper gets a nice meal
