The title says it all. do you dose everything or next to nothing? i've seen a lot of people saying you should strip down what you dose your tank with but what is "the bare essentials"? and who doses everything?
I use a Calcium reactor and dose Magnesium once in a while to top up. Other than that I use a few zeovit products like amino acids, sponge power and coral vitalizer.
To maintain calcium and alk levels, I dose B-Ionic two-part with BRS dosers controlled by an Apex.
For nutrient control, I'm trying to run a hybrid Zeo/biopellet system -- dose some of the zeo products but do not use the Zeovit, instead using the biopellets as the bacteria substrate. I dose Zeostart2 at much less than recommended, Zeobak, Sponge Power, Amino Acid and Zeofood7.
who here likes to take the minimalist approach to things, and why? why does your method work? (the whole reason i started this thread [realized it wasnt in the best spot afterwords >.< ] is because i havent seen too much of what people dose on here and i know some of you are darn near religious when it comes to it )
I'm not sure I understand your question. You ask what people dose (which often becomes complicated) then you contradict yourself by asking who takes a more minimalistic approach.
Brightwell, Elemental as needed
Brightwell, Alk8.3 every other day
I fall in that minimalist category, the elemental keeps CA and trace elements up with one product. The Alk8.3 keeps Alk in check and buffers my PH, if i had an ATO I would use that to add the Alk8.3.
im just asking what you dose and why you find your approach works, if your a minimalist then why do you feel that works the best for you. not just asking about the minimalists but everybody, sorry for the confusion.
