What do you NEED?

Filtration: 1-1.5 lbs live rock per gallon, protein skimmer (Learned this the hard way)

Lighting: Best lighting and eventually less expensive is a good led system. It seems very expensive at first but you electric bill will thank you nd they last for a super long time. t5's will work too I suppose

Circulation: Get a couple powerheads going for circulation in the tank, size of powerhead depends on tank size

Heater

Chiller depending on where you live. If it isnt always crazy hot where you are youll be fine

Live sand would help with filtration and wont break the bank

Lots of patience

Yes you need a lot of patience, and try doing research of what type of tank you want. And also if you can get a quartine tank for your fish. You want to make sure they are health and that they eat.
