Yes, this is a good thread. I am still curious to know exactly what they are doing. I did post it as a feeding response because if you have watched a jellyfish swim it is not just swimming but feeding. It is thrusting water in and out of it's body capturing plankton and other food particles in it's tentacles. The zoanthids look to be doing the same. Since there appears to be very little flow near the polyps the only thing I can think of, is that it is attempting to thrust more water into it's "mouth" to feed since the flow is extremely low.

But also, thanks for bringing the zoa forum back from the dead. Many of us are looking for more information just like what this thread is providing. I'm tired of the "rate my zoa" threads.
