10 gallon tank
3 inch regular sand bed (not special sand or anything)
burrow rock (base)
a little lr to seed
water from established tank
and aquaclear 150 for filtration (might put in some kind of bio filtration until lr builds up.)

I put a 25# bag of live aragonite in my tank and within a month it had tons of life. With a 10g you could prob get away with having about a pound of a local reffers sand out of his tank to seed the dead sand bed (DSB) you put in. Where are you located?

The aquaclear 500 would be great for it once you cycle and the tank gets the stability you can turn it into a mini fuge.
