WHat do you use for a media reactor? 1000g system

I am using a BRS media reactor and have realized that in order for GFO and carbon to work then I need way more!!!

My total tank volume is 1100g and BRS recommends 13.75 cups of carbon and 17 cups of GFO.

I don't plan to use quite that much, but I can't figure out what to use as a reactor for that much media.

Anyone have suggestions? Prefer an inexpensive method.
