What does a dead flame scallop look like

Anyone have experience with flame scallops and to know when they are not alive?

Is just a simple test of moving him looking for a response? Or colorization?

He will melt away and all your clean up crew will surround him and eat him, empty shell will follow.

Thank you. Not at that stage yet....but hes not looking healthy. I know they are a difficult specimen to keep. I've tried syringe of his food directly in front of him as well as a general light dump of it in tank. Not often...I have been having other tank issues so maybe between his own difficult virility and other variables...this will be our last scallop.

I promise!

Fish, coral, and clean up crew is the plan. No exotics. As of right now no SPS. As far as plans.

My biggest challenge and goal is to just get to the right water parameters. Maintain them. And keep aquarium clean and beautiful. Make sure all equipment is cleaned. I've started making my own water now. Doing my own tests

I really don't have the time or energy or stress handling skills or unlimited money to handle and worry about the difficult to keep livestock.
