What does lps stand for?

I know this might be a silly question but I am new to the hobby.

Also keep in mind that it is not a scientific definition, just a hobby designation.

In general it means moderate lighting and moderate flow, but in practice that varies greatly.

Not scientific, to science, the stony corals are all classed as stony corals. We as hobbyists have separated it by large and small, even though species like leptastrea, leptoseris, lithophyllon, etc. blur the lines.

not to mention cyphastrea sometimes. Some species show a lot of flesh and some do not
