what does new clam shell growth look like?

what does new clam shell growth look like? is it white? Pictures would be great!
just wondering if my clam is growing.

yep, it is a white build up along the edge of the clam shell.

this is the best pic i can find in my old ones of my crocea's first new scutes

this is another photo of 3 weeks growth ( 1/4" - 3/8" )on my gigas. the picture looks horrible, so blurry ( when i took the pic the view finder looked clear?? ). i'm getting my camera back today so i should be able to get some clearer pics but i think you get the idea
