What does your tank room look like?

Thought I would post these. I will try to take some better pics when the Lights are on tommorrow so they will be a little bit better. I think I need to put the 28mm lens on to can get wide enough

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I need to buy a house.

But I'm only 22, and I don't think I could deal with a 150K mortgage over my head yet.

anyhow, my fish room is my living room and my entertainment room...

anyhow, couldn't find my tripod, so I just balanced the camera on my dinner table opposite of the room.

and the tank...working through my algae cycle.. (I'm using that in-tank filter for carbon, and a sub-micron filter. As soon as the algae drops, I'll pull my carbon out.

here's a closeup of the tank

I've got 5 astreas..wheee

Well the girlfriend voted no, on that design ;) She said "it should be the whole wall." It IS, her room. So I aim to please!:smokin:

Marc, Good eye, it is. I was at Maddam Tsuso's (I'm sure I spelled that wrong) Wax museum in Las Vegas. That was her Wax statue.

Let's see a full room shot (and a close-up so I can see the final design) of your new set-up. I was following your build thread before I went to Vegas, I bet it turned out sweet!

If I ever get the walls painted and some woodwork done, I'll post it. Until then, you'll have to just enjoy the livestock in the tank.

LOL! I think you and I are on the same schedule Marc. 2 and a half years, I just finished painting the walls last month.

Nice rooms.. Now, how can I convince the wife to put a brass pole in our bedroom...

What are the dimensions of that tank?

Tank is custom from Oceanic. Dimensions are 60" L x 36"D x 28"H. The house builder took special interest in the project for this was his first tank install. I had to work with the engineer to beef up the floor. The filter room is in the basement and worked out well. Thanks for the good words...it gives me some pull with my wife!!:D :D :D

gosh i wish i had some money...................oh wait i mean i wish i had a camera to show off my 14'x14' room with a queen size bed 30"hdtv in a 7' long entertainment center with a 600 watt 5 disc hdcd dvd and 1000watt reciever with a 90 gal. stuffed in the side of the bed...oh and my BATMAN collection....lol!

how do you all love your tanks?

how do you all love your tanks?

i love mine so much but i am afraid i may have to take it down and sell everything i dont have a job to pay for the cost of it anymore. i am sooooo freakin mad and sad beyond comprehension, i hope i can find some good fish parents out there who will take good care of my babies. shed not a tear for me but for the life i must give up:furious: :worried: :sad1:

Hey Tom do you have some more detailed info on your tank? Pics? From what I can see, your tank looks like a reef photograph. Man, very Nice as all of the posters here have shown.

Thanks.

Tom thanks for the information that is the size I wish I had. I have the the 120 which is 24 deep and as I was landscaping the tank I was sitting there thinking I wish it was 36 deep. I think my next tank will be 48x48x24. I have to wait for the kids to grow up and move out so I can customize the house more.

RevHtree...well the tank has been up for a little longer than 2 years. Alot of the corals came from my old 180. I stick with all softies now. Went the SPS route but they are too touchy for my taste...even though they really are colorful. I have gotten into anthias and have roughly 60 fish in the system. The filter room, as I mentioned, is in the basement. The main sump holds about 50 gallons of water and I run a Deltec AP 902 skimmer along with a phosphate reactor to control the phosphate levels from the fish and feeding. A Korallin 3002 calcium reactor tries to keep up with the demands of the tank but I often have to add Cal Chloride and Mag Chloride to keep levels close. A refugium was added a few months back and holds about 35-40 gallons of water. 2-400 watt halides plus 4-VHO's consist of tyhe lighting system. Overall I really have enjoyed this project although the tank could use even more circulation (closed loop would be nice) and of course it could be bigger. Happy none the less with the final outcome. A few more pics of the system.
