what eats diatoms?

Time will also help get rid of diatoms. Clean water, lots of movement and time. I find it is a good combination.

queen conchs

Queen conchs get really big, if it's on the sand and your tank is large enough a fighting conch will do a great job. On the rocks my astreas are doing a good job.

Interesting. My Turbo's do a great job of cleaning most of my LR but they seem to avoid the diatom bloom on the sand and the lower portions of the LR.

I was wondering myself which would be the best cleanup crew addition to take care of this.

My only problem at this point is that my 10 gal nano is already overstocked with two Ocellaris clowns that I have no other choice but to host in there for the time being while I get my 55 gallon moved/reset-up and cycled.

I have had Cucumber's pitched (suggested) to me as possible diatom consumers. Can anyone confirm this for me? I was told by the LFS that Astrea's need a colder temp environment and that I should not add them in my tank where temps are regularly at 81 degrees. Are they blowing smoke?

i have 5 astreas in my tank at 79 degrees.. they are all doing great... but theres the same one that always ends up upside down and i have to flip him.. stupid..
so i wouldnt see why the lfs would tell you that
