I just picked up an 29 gal tank that's been running for the last 2 1/2 years. I moved the water and very thing. It came with

30 lbs live rock
2 inch live crushed coral bed
Maxi-Jet 600 Power head & Submersible
Pump
Penguin 170 Biowheel filter
130 watt marine lighting
(1 florescent, 1 actinic blue)
Canopy mounted exhaust fan
Jager 120V Aquarium heater
2x15 lb bags Instant
Ocean sea salt
Phosguard treatment

Occupants:
2 soft corals (fuzzy green mushroom and colt coral)
Various hermit crabs and snails
2 False something clowns (I cant remember the middle name) :eek2:
1 Royal Gamma

What else do I need for this tank.. I can see it has no stum or skimmer but do I need them? What do you recomend?

Also it seems to have a bit of hair algae on the rocks and around the colt coral, what is the best way to deal with it? I did test the water 6 hours after it was moved and set back up. Ph 8.2 Ammonia between 0 and .25 NitrItes between .25 and NitrAtes between 0 and 5. I know that I should be getting ) readings for the Ammonia and the NitrItes.. could moving it have put the test results off a bit? or do I need to do a water change, etc

Also ones the tank and all it's little critters get setteled in what would be beauties that you recomnnd. I enjoy color and movement and I know one of my children really woudl like a reef safe star fish.

Any help would be GREAT! ty:rollface:

I would defiantly recomend a skimmer, probaly the best investment you could make on a tank is a nice skimmer and calcium reactor if your going to have a good amount of corals. If you just have a few corals and budgets tight than you can dose your tank with calcium buffer from your local fish store. But the skimmer is a need be.
