What fish for 65g tank?

Reef Tank Junkie
im getting my Marineland CornerFlo 65g tank/20g sump. Already have equipment.

What sort of fish can I safely put in this tank? I already have two occ. clowns in my other tank that will get transferred over..but it seems that the decently sized fish i see are advised for 100g tanks and over.

I'd *like* a tang, a few banggai cardinals, maybe some chromis.

I plan to have mainly soft/zoa, LPS, and a BTA in the tank.

I'd love a flame angel, but I have had nothing but bad luck with any dwarf...and I can't stomache any more livestock loss.

ALSO, is PraziPro a good prophelactic medication to use for QT of new fish?

Thanks!!!!!

I wouldn't put any tang in a 3 foot 65 -- just not enough length.

PraziPro is great to have on hand, and for sure to use if you are going to try any dwarf angel -- flukes are pretty common with them.

It could be a risk with the tang, but i know a ton of people that have 65's and own 1-2 tangs and they do great in them. I would only do one though. I'd say everything else is good but MAYBE hold off on the angel and get a blenny, firefish or some sort of small wrasse.

Something to keep in mind with tangs is it is not just the number of gallons, length of tank is equally if not more important. These fish have to have room to move!

Have you considered a Dwarf Angelfish (Centropyge sp.). There are many species that do very well in captivity and many are great reef inhabitants (IME).

I would not stick a tang in a 65 gallon tank. It's like putting a horse in a dog kennel....
I hardly ever bring up tank sizes. But think about it. Can you have a "happy" horse in a 12x12 dog kennel? Sure, feed him, keep him warm and sheltered, keep him safe from predators and such. But it is still a 12x12 kennel, just like a 65 gallon tank is a 65 gallon tank no matter how you look at it.
