Greetings from Illinois, I have a 220G (old 1986 Oceanic 7' long) with 75G Sump 100lbs liverock, that I want to be a FOWLR semi-aggressive. Been up and running for a little over 6 months now. Currently is socked with a extremely large Maroon Clown, and juvey clown, 3 various juvey damsels (which I used to cycle the tank), a dragon wrasse (medium size now), and a lawn mower. Water perimeters are holding good now, except about once a month nitrates creep up a little to 20 and then a I do a water change and it settles back down. PH saying around 8.1 - 8.3 (with occasional help of seachem reef buffer). I just bought a bigger skimmer (Reef Octopus 300 with bubble blaster pump) in expectations of starting to stock now that things a settled in and have good algae and sponges starting good growth.
Here is my questions - Would like to know if there are any semi-aggressive butterfly fish, that would get along with a semi-aggressive angel species? The more I read and research the more I think this may be a pipe dream. All the beautiful fish that I wanted to keep when I bought this tank (my living room tank is a 90 reef) for downstairs family room is falling apart. Butterfly fish are beautiful, but their requirements with water quality and feeding requirements, don't seem to work with a emperor, or other beautiful angels, except possibly a copperband. Guess what I am asking for is - Is there any way to have a COLORFUL COMMUNITY SEMI-AGGRESSIVE FOWLR tank. Would like to add a butterfly, angel, trigger of some sort to this mix. Doesn't hurt to dream, but I think its a pipe-dream. Any help appreciated:headwally:
