what fish should i add?

briansbelle

zoa collector :)
i am wanting to add another fish to my tank...it seems so bare with the 2 clowns and the 6 line...the clowns hang out by their "head" and the 6 line cruises the tank...

i want something that wont topple rocks, eat softies or sps...and will be able to be in an open top tank and stand up to my 6 line, he isnt aggressive at all..but could be

any suggestions? this will be my final fish purchase for this tank unless my 6 line jumps ship or something happens....

these are the ones i am thinking about, any pros or cons?

thanks!

bangaiis-4 young till i get 1 pair
coral beauty angel
cherub angel
royal gramma
bi color dottyback

I vote for the Coral Beauty. Just because I really like that fish. Gotta watch it around any corals with mantles though

thanks! by mantles you mean like clams and such? will it be ok around my zoas, brain coral, and shrooms?

also here is a pic of my tank, will it be ok with the rock work i have? sorry about the glare ;)

thanks!

Maybe a midas blenny or black cap basslet? Cons would be that both can be somewhat reclusive but will eventually be out and about quite often. Pros: sweet fish that are generally hardy and easy to keep. Also reef safe.

i was just going to post about a midas blenny :) or a tailspot blenny :)

would my wrasse give him issues? my wrasse isnt very big and doesnt bother anything in the tank...
also are they known to jump? my tank is open top..i can get some eggcrate if need be to keep them in, that is no problem ;)

awesome!!! i think i will just pick one of those up...cant decide between a midas blenny or a lawnmower blenny...

thanks!

The midas would be a more prone to jump than the LM. If the midas is grown eggcrate should be fine. You can also get a window screen frame kit from your hardware store with some 1/4" bird/pond netting. Take you about 15 minutes to build it and it will work/look great.

i picked up a coral beauty angel fish...i looked at the midas blenny but he was $56..i got the coral beauty for $31...so far he's doing great, and best part is, my wrasse isnt messing with him...they are both swimming around picking at rocks :)
