what fish to add?

I have a 90gal tank with 30gal sump/fuge. I am planning to add a fish or two. Currently the tank residents are the following: pair of maroon clowns, 5" yellow tang, diamond gobby and cleaner shrimp. I like a fish that will add color to my current stocks. But of course must be at least semi-aggresive since maroons and tang is on that side, I don't want to add something they will both harrass.

TIA

What about an Orchid Dottyback, they can hold their own. Maybe a six line wrasse, or a dwarf angel. My coral beauty can be a feisty little fish when she feels like it.

i have to rule out anthias, call it whatever you want but everytime I add an anthias in my tank something bad happens. the first time I add an anthias in my tank, got an ich outbreak. I lost the anthias and my PBT. Then after a month, when my tank is ready and running I add another set of anthias, few weeks after my tank crashed. So i have a bad luck with anhtias.

maybe a sixline and dottyback.

anybody else would like to help me?

I would lean towards a Dwarf angel and one of the Halichoeres Wrasses. Both would go nicely with your system but the wrasses need sand to sleep in at night. Some good choices of the wrasse would be Yellow coris, Radiant, or Pinstripe(melanurus).

There is always risk of coral nipping with the Dwarfs and concerns of inverts with the wrasses. The 3 wrasses I mentioned all stay less than 5" when fully grown.

I have both the Yellow coris and the Radiant in my system with 2 cleaner shrimp and 4 Sexy shrimp with no issues and the Yellow coris has been in the system over a year with the shrimp. I also have a Potters and Flame angels with no problems with my LPS corals.

The Orchid dottyback is a beautiful fish but mine stays in the rocks most of time and is rarely out in open view. IDK on the 6-line, have heard many reports of their aggressive behaviour but have no first hand experience.

You can add a pair of flame angels. I'd 3 in my old 75g with a pair of GSM clowns, yellow tang plus more.

WOW flameangel thats alot of angels in your 75. do they all get along?

Yes, I did have a lot in that tank. The only aggression I'd in that 75 was the intro of the juv blueface and the established juv emperor took exception to. I'd to take out the blueface for about 6 weeks into my qt tank to get beef up. The second time around it was able to hold its own. Unfortunately the tank crashed during the move last September before they could go into the 180g. None of the angels and tangs made it and the survivors were gsm pair, drogon goby pair, ywg w/pistol and pajama cardinal.

I feel that the key is having lots of rockwork and feeding them well definitely help to ease aggression. I've been very lucky so far and especially been able to replicate the success I'd with many of the angels in the 75g into the current 180g.

whoa, for a 75gal you squeezed in all those fish?!

I think one six line and a small regal tang is my maximum addition to my current livestock. I want something blue thats why I will go with regal tang. Hopefully by the time the regal grow to its maximum size I can afford to upgrade my tank to maybe 200+. The six line have been a favorite of mine, I have a sixline and yellow coris in my tank before the crashed.

wrasse are cool and fun to watch. i have a radiant and solar in my 90 now with 3 chromis and a pair of ocellaris clowns.

Thank you guys for posting. After long days of thinking my wife and I decided on the following:
- pair of Maroon clowns
- 1 yellow tang
- 1 blue tang
- 1 white satriped damsel
- 1 diamond gobby
- 1 cleaner shrimp

Still thinking about the six line wrasse, but it can wait till about later.

I like the selection of fish in your tank... flameangel.

Thanks. Are you still caring for those 8 FW tanks? That seems like a lot of work.
