What fish?

hey i am gonna buy a fish for my 29gal but what fish should i get?? Thanks for the help

maybe a lawnmower blenny - as long as you're producing enough algae for it to eat. if not enough algae, then you can put seaweed (green algae) sheets in on a clip.

your tank is way too small for a mandrian because they need sooo many pods you would probably need to setup a 75 refugium just to feed him. I would say a couple of clowns and a clown goby. HTH,Tim

Any kind you like. Ditto on not getting a Mandrin. Maybe a chalk bass, goby, or chromis as well.

Even if it eats food for the store/person who feeds it, there is no guarentee that it will eat for you. Your tank most likely can't grow pods fast enough for your manderin to eat them, and many manderins that take prepared foods last only months before perishing.

There is a lot of debate on tank size, #LR, sand, etc.. about keeping a mandrin alive for more than 6 months. Supposedly, they need pods even if they do eat prepared food---it may work if you can find one that will eat mysis, brine shrimp. I have one in a 65g w/ a small fuge---I've had it for 1 year, but it is not "fat" and I believe it does eat some frozen shrimp(some time it just spits them out).

Is this fish only? If so then a flame angel. If it's a reef setup I say a yellow watchmen goby.

Yea its soon to be a reef....I am leaning to True Perc clown not the false

Get tank breed, not wild caught. Much more hardy.

Hardy meaning that is more able to survive stressful or poor conditions as opposed to the wild caught clown.

You have many, many choices. Clowns are agressive (like some other popular fish) and will attack others. If you look at LiveAquaria.com beginners or nano fish---that is what most of my fish are. Angels are nice, but can pick on LPS--I have a cherub--it picks on Trachyphyllia and plate corals.
