65g Ritteri Tank
I only seem to have this problem when I run my radiums. I just switched back on the XM20k's. I was running my radiums at 5 hours as I thought they were getting too much light. I've been feeding the tank more because of potential "starving". Not sure what else to do. They are turning white but not bleaching type of white. Some have random dead spots on them. Alk is at 8, cal at 420. Any tips would be appreciated. You can see how agitated they look...

These are just some examples, but all of my sps look this way. Just real drab. Nitrates a possible problem, I run a refugium and oversized skimmer so I dont test for them.

Your Alk is ok, but possibly boarderline low. Dpending on how often you check it, water change, dose, etc you may be getting swings where is it going too low. When I have problmes with receeding coral is usually relates back to alk swings. For sps it would be a great idea to check your nitrate and phosphate. You want both low, but arguably not zero, because the corals do need to eat, and it is possible to make your water too clean. This is why most sps tanks have skimmers, often fuges, plus GAC and GFO. While some of these things (ie GFO) may not be run continuously, many keep them on hand if they notice values are starting to climb.

Red bugs wouldn't effect the montis. What test kits are you using and how old. Montis and stylos act up when mag is off.

That's whats so messed up. in the first picture in the top right you can see my purple stylo is doing just fine. I literally have no idea what's going on.

Didn't know that the red bugs affect monties. I have them and have been dipping to find out they were on them so I just assumed. good to know. just wondering if monties are receding like that due to mag is it due to a drop in levels typically?

What kits are you using? How old, any changes even if the levels are good now? Check your heaters, and pumps make sure you don't have any stray volts.

Do I check for stray voltage by putting my hand in the water? Cuz I have my hands in the water all the time for feeding and I never get shocked. I have pretty much all high end equipment

Use a volt meter to check for stray voltage. See if anyone around you has one if you dont no need to by one unless you want to. What is your magnesium?
