What happened to my fish?

In a tank by himself and came home tonight and found him like this:

Most likely a Gram-Negative bacterial infection.

Thank you for the response. Do you have a link to information about this or know what causes it? How do I avoid it in the future?

Gram-Negative bacterium are nasty, not much time to save the fish. Most likely there was some signs earlier. I posted some info on vibrio a few threads down.

Probably a bacterial infection, but do you have hermits, live rock, or anything else in that tank? There does look to be some scavenging of the body.

There is one piece of live rock and a few snails in the frag tank. All the corals are fine though.
