Jimmy I think it is because there are a lot of people bitter towards OF right now. I think most of those people felt that CMAS was being partial to them or at least that is the way it came across. I think everyone is laying low right now. As with anything, time will heal!!!

The secret at Odd lot is to get there within a day or two of the shipment coming in while they still have color....either that or wait until they brown out and play let's make a deal...and see what happens when you get them to your own tank.

I was away from OF for a while and went recently. IT WAS GREAT!
Dave had his hands full as he was setting up the other place and Fragapalooza, and the store. think the store slipped for a few there. BUT let me tell you, back full swing. And as for sales, you should get your self on his mailing list. He has had some great ones almost every weekend the past month. Just dosen't have anyone shilling for him. We can start a new gang and call ourselfs the OF shillers.

If that is the case then in a few months we shouldn't be hearing about aqutic reef either. Let me also say that I have nothing against aquatic reef either. I have met Noel and Sherwin and they are great guys. I also have recieved some good deals from them.

If people are bitter against OF I owuld be curious as to why.

I don't know jjjimmy. I still really like OF. It's still one of my favorite places to spend a buck. I recently got a huge blue and orange zoa "frag" for $15 (30 plus polyps!!!), and a very large finger leather for $30. Dave always gives me a good deal when I go in there. Now, I'll admit, lately I have also gone to places like Exotic Aquatics and Aquatic Reef, and I also really like them too, but OF remains one of my favorite places to go. IMO, they always have a wide selections of corals, and their fish are usually cheaper then most places I go to. The people there are nice, and I never feel "pushed" to buy anything. I don't know if the younger guys are as informed as dave or anything, but overall, I love OF!

Let's face it jjjimmy. Around us we have some great LFS options. OF, Exotic Aquatics, and Aquatic Reef. Between the 3 of those, any reefer can pretty much find anything we want at a reasonable price. I really like all 3 stores and could go on about each of them (in a positive way) for a long time.

IMO, OF' has the best prices overall for fish and coral. No one I have ever seen can beat the prices of Live Rock at Exotic Aquatics, and Aquatic Reef always seems to have some of the collest rarest stuff in the area. I think Noel is the most knowledgeable of the people I talk to (not to mention I get a feeling he is extremely genuine which adds kudos points in my book), but Dave knows what he's doing for sure, and offers good advice, and I have never talked to someone at Exotic Aquatics and thought they didn't know what they were talking about. Just my experience though. I think exotic Aquatic has the best overall staff from top to bottom. See, I can go on about these places for a while.

I don't know. I'm sure all of my points are up for debate. I just think all 3 stores are good and worthy of my dollar depending on what I'm looking for.

I've always really liked OF but the last time I went there about 2 months ago, the place was a wreck! The main SPS tank was covered in algae, all the corals were brown and the same with the frag racks.

Me and my buddy were shocked. I'm glad to hear they turned it around again because it was always a nice drive up there with the family.
