What heater to get?

What is the best most accurate heater that wont cook the tank?

Do you have central AC .... if so... do you think you need a heater ?

FYI: I've never used one do to keeping the house at acceptable ranges

Ebo Jager heaters are the most reliable. I have one in all 4 of my tanks. Never fail and do there job perfectly.

Jager is fine. If you search further, you will notice that somebody has had a failure with each brand, although some more frequently than others (such as won-brothers as I noticed when I was looking into which heater to use on my tank). I use a stealth for my WC water heating needs and a Rena Cal in my sump with success. Although I must admit that due to my central air/heating and the pumps that I have on the tank, the unit only comes on every now and then in the winter (December - Feburary). Jman77 may be right, you may not even need one. Will probably depend on the tank volume and your regional location. Florida is pretty temperate in the winter.
