Wanting to add redundancy to my 55 gallon tank. Heater change time. Wanting to the 2 heater route instead of the one I have in there now. What wattage should I use per heater when adding 2?

For that size tank, either a 150 watt or 200 watt is usually recommended. Since you want redundancy, I would go with either (2) 150 watt or (2) 200 watt.

Ditto for a 200 watt. Plus a backup in case it doesn't cut it when it really gets cold. I imagine you've also got a generator. Man! It gets cold up here, no?

Yes I have a Generator. When I owned a Toyota Tacoma a while back it saved my tank on one occasion.. I had the 120v outlet option in the bed.. that and a long extension cord..

Any opinion on inkbird temp controller?
I’ve heard both good and bad on inkbird. I believe a member on here had two fail in them fairly recently.

I’ve heard Ranco are really good (but pricey).

I have used one for years for 600 watts of heaters.
Mine isn't the new wifi one though.
