What I can't keep any more. SPS DOMINANT THREAD

Hey guys, I wanted to see if I'm not allow here since there are many corals now (LPS and softies) that just don't do well in my sps tank. The more light and higher current is forcing me to kill and or remove a few old favorites that used to grow like crazy. Zoa's do seem to mind the low nutrient levels but my acans, trumpets and chalices are the first things that pop into my mind as not liking the SPS world I have created. Just wondering what others have had to say "no" to with running a SPS dominant tank. Seems its evaluable going to be SPS's only:love2:

It really depends on the size of the tank and filtration methods.

In smaller tanks I can not keep Leathers even running carbon and doing routine water changes. I no longer keep GSP because it's so invasive, Xenia because it hates my water chemistry, many mushrooms and Ricordia because I cook it under intense lighting in a small tank.

Huge tanks with high tech filtration you can keep just about anything.

In my 75G SPS tank, I have had no issues with most non sps corals, other than one or two that had to be moved to less direct flow areas.

In addition to acros and other sps, I keep GSP, zoos, shrooms, acans, torch coral, frogspawn (did not like high flow, had to move several times), and a large 8-10" wide toadstool leather. I had a large Kenya Tree coral, but it started growing like wild once I upped the flow, and started spreading rapidly, so I moved it to another tank.

I also had to return a large (8" wide) carnation coral colony, it was not happy anywhere in my tank and would slime up and sting nearby acros. I wouldnt suggest putting this in a SPS tank based on my experience, unless it was a smaller frag instead of a whole colony

I don't dislike the fact that the remnants of my Kenya tree colony are withering away. I have managed to find spots for an Acan, hammer coral, wellso, Duncan, favia, and candy cane colony in my tank. Many LPS can take more flow and light than we give them credit for as long as they are acclimated.
