What is a frag tank?

What is a frag tank used for? Size of tank? Filteration? Do you put fish in it or just coral? Sorry for the simple questions, I just don't know much about how they are used.

a frag tank is just a seperate tank that is mostly plummed into the main tank. it usually has powerheads, lights, and an eggcrate stand in it, and ppl place their frags of corals into this to let them grow before selling. some are diff. also but that is the main things
