what is a ozoneator

Ozone is an unstable form of Oxygen, it is considered beneficial in tanks with exceptionally heavy bioload for oxidizing organics. An air pump, a drier, and an ozonator hooked up to a reactor or a skimmer are common ways to use it. The safest way is with an ORP controller. You'll have to look up ORP on your own. Excess ozone can not only mess with the life in your aquarium, its not good for you either. Ozone is falling out of popularity as people develop better ways to control nutrients in the aquarium. You most likely need to stay away from it.

Bob Fenner (wetwebmedia.com) recommends Ozone for just about every tank. Since adding ozone (Red Sea 100mg) to my set up I've seen amaizing results. It's definately worth looking in to.
