What is going on!?

I was looking at my birds best this morning and I noticed the base of it was loosing its flesh. This is one if my most prized corals because it was my first ever sps and it was perfect. It grew to a softball from about and inch frag in about 3 months. I inspected it and it has doesn't have any bugs on it or anything. The only thing I can think of is I have been dosing ruby reek kick ich. What else could be wrong?

I'm sure dosing ich medication to your display would not make your sps happy. Other than that, we'll need a lot more info to help you out.

What size tank? flow? lighting? nitrate and phosphate levels?

With some more info it should give us a better idea of what's going on, although the ich medication really stands out already.

Iv'e dosed kick ich in my tanks and my sps have not been affected...maybe it was just luck

Is it bleaching or is flesh peeling off? If it is just bleaching it could be because it is shading itself (which happens in the wild too). If it is peeling, then please post all params here.

Peeling. 75 gallon tank with 2 korilia 1400 gph, 2 150 watt mh and 4 14 watt blue actinics. Nitrates less than 5 and I don't know phosphates I will test them when I get home. I want to think it is the dip I used. My lfs recomended it and I used it the other night because I noticed the polyps wernt out on the birdsnest. I galloped the directions to the t and now all this is happening. It is the API coral dip and this is the second time I use it for sps corals ad the first time this happened and now it is happening again. How can I stop the tissue loss!!??
