I have a 55 that had been set up for id say about two months now. So far I have had a tang, three damsels, two clowns, and a butterfly die. They died when all my readings where normal. Nothing was technically wrong with my tank. It had already been cycled. I let the tank cylce more after that. I added a Damsel two days ago and woke up to him dead this morning. Ran some test and everything, I mean everything is normal. What do I do? What is going on? I changed 50% of my tank and am letting it cylce for another month. Please, any suggestions?

Not much to go on here. Can you tell us how you acclimate the fish? Has the tank been used before, does it have anything left in it from prior use like medications, copper etc? How muc sand and rock is in it? When you say it has cycled have you seen the spike in the ammonia and nitrite and the subsequent drop?

Is it just fish you are loosing? Or are you having problems with snails, hermits and shrimp too? Try to get to the bottom of this, but either way I'd hold off for a month or so on adding new fish and just let your tank run for a bit.

Need much more info. Normal will not suffice for any real answers. And equipment, rock amount.. etc.. is needed.

Pretty damn hard to kill damsels.

Something is terribly wrong with your tank for all levels to be "normal" and have no visible signs of disease... I can say right away that you added way to much to fast to start...
