Looks like your getting some die off. What type of flow do you have? Monti's love lots of flow. Have you checked for pests? Montipora eating nudibranches & montipora black bugs?
That'll be it then. You need to make sure you don't have anything settling on your sps expecialy monti caps.
I would just leave it and it should regrow back over the dead area
I had something similar happen to mine I hava diamondback goby that picks the rock all day suspending detritus that was setteling in spots on my monti cap. I moved it into better flow basted off any die off each day and it regenerated within 9 days.
Mine looked like that with the addition of to much ALK dosing.( my dosing changed and didnt check it) I am just getting color back in the coral and its been several weeks. It was almost like a white frothy look in the crevises with the loss of color.
Like was said above, the sand on it was killing what was below it. Just like leaving something out in your yard, you will get a brown/dead spot in the grass, but over time it should grow back.
