what is happening with this turbinaria frag

I picked this turbinaria frag up over this past weekend. When I got it home I noticed this little white spot. Over the past 5 days or so, its slowly growing. What is it, and how do I stop it? Do I just need to cut that area off?

slow tissue necrosis, as for what's causing the rissue to die, no idea. We'd need more info

Well, I picked up the frag on Saturday, and it was in a bag in the dark until Sunday night, over 24 hrs....dunno if that would do it or not.
