what is he eating?

I hear clicks at night, but have yet to see any empty snail or hermit shells.

I'm pretty sure I have one...a few nights ago my flashlight illuminated a pair of eyes scurrying across the sand.

any ideas what he is eating? anything clues I can look for?

I know my mantis breaks up the rocks around his home to make room and burrows. I don't know how long a mantis can go with no food but I started feeding mine frozen shrimp, I did not want to take a chance.

I think Tim ate the larger 'pods when I first brought him home. He was too small for even the small hermits her tried. He also ate stomatella snails (he still does eat them - lots of exposed flesh there on a thin, cracker-like shell).
