Yesterday I purchanced a frogspawn for my reef and last night I noticed what looked like a feather duster but longer coming right out of the center mouth hole. It was like a feathery arm that came out and sucked back in three times quick and waited a minute and did it again. What ever it was the majority of it was living in the coral. The frogspawn was small but looked healthy.

Anybody know what it is? I cant see it because it is completely hidden in the coral.

Do you think it is hosting with the coral and is benificial or do you think it will harm the coral then move to the next coral when it has killed the one it is in?

I cant get any pictures because the wouldn't come out anyway.

Any ideas?

Most likely a barnacle. They are harmless to the coral, and are very common hitchikers with Euphyllia. Barnacles dont usually survive long in captivity because they need so much suspended food to keep them well fed, but are a cool little freebie in the mean time.
