I was looking between rocks this morning with a flashlight trying to find my purple nano when I can across this "thing". I can not get a better view of it due to it's position in the rocks and that the this is on the very bottom of a 90 gallon tank with about 150 lbs. of rock on top.
This is my first reef tank and was setup in February. After the rocked cured I began adding livestock in late April. This spot does not getting any direct light, in fact very little reflective light makes it into this rock cave.
The red and white "whatevers" will sway in the current and every 30 seconds or so rotate what appears to be a full 360 degrees. The part I can see is about 1 to 1 1/2 inches.
Can anyone tell me what I have found and if it poses any type of threat in a reef tank?
