Sorry for the confusion but still trying to figure this out ! Should and can some of the sponges and other things be epoxied to the rocks or do they need to be in the sand ?http://reefcentral.com/gallery/data/500/183244P2--2.JPG Like this and what is it ?

You have it right...first is a feather duster...second a yellow ball sponge, all placed correctly!

Just watch the sponges they tend not to live long. If you see them melting best just chuck them from the tank.

I got 5 or 6 sponges from Richard and only 1 isnt doing so great. The rest are doing pretty well. Sponges cant be that hard to keep. I've only had them a month however.

Just dont let them touch air!

Sponges are difficult to keep. Try to keep them out of the light, it give them the best chance to stay algae free.
