what is on my powder brown tang

I have this guy two weeks . He has been at my local pet store for over a month. He did have a very faint circle in the area behind his eye. After a week I pulled him out and he is in QT . I put copper in a few days ago and just put prazzi pro in . Any idea what he has ?

hlle, which has unknown case. Usually, feeding vitamins or quality pellets make it go away because one theory is nutritional deficiency.

I know its not hlle I have seen it before in the past.
The photo is bad but the white part of his face has turned kind of red in some areas and the area behind his eye is like an open sore of some kind. If he has a red open sore what is a good treatment for him. He was not beat up and was eating well before I pulled him. What ever he has did not look good thats why I pulled him. I think that's probably a pretty nasty bacterial infection. You need to treat with a broad spectrum antibiotic ASAP, such as Furan-2 or Kanaplex.

That is HLLE. If you are also seeing red that could mean that the erosion is so deep that you are starting to see the blood through the eroded flesh or it could be that the area is now infected because of the erosion.

Let me give you an example to compare (this example is HLLE):

Sorry for your loss. If he died this quickly, it likely was a gram negative bacterial infection (the worst kind). You need to closely monitor all your other fish that shared water with the deceased.

You should assess the reasons that resulted in this fish having HLLE. Environmental and nutritional, or both. In the meantime, avoid fish that are more prone to this disease--such as tangs and angels.

Of course, since you had the fish only 2 weeks, he very likely was already experiencing a problem when you got him.

I do not think a fish can get HLLE in a few days as most of you know you see it spread at a slow pace. I am sure now that it had an infection . I am about due to replace my uv bulbs which I have so I will do that and hope it does not spread to any other fish

HLLE also doesn't kill a fish in just a few days - if it even does at all.
