What is on my torch coral?

Alright so this white thing has been on my torch coral for about a month or so now and I'm not sure what it is. It has a hole and a little hand like thing comes out of it and goes back in. What is it?

How do they get there? Will it harm the coral?

+1 Barnacle.

These usually just hitchhike their way into our tanks via live rock, various corals etc. They're completely harmless, but they don't seem to live very long for some reason. Starvation would be my guess.

Agree, Looks like a barnacle. I have one that is inside one of my Candy Cane heads. There is a slit in the flesh, and the barnacle filter feeds through the hole. It is weird, but doesn't seem to bother the candy cane.
