I tried touching them, most of them didn't care, a couple balled up, but the tube length stayed the same.

+1 with NirvanaFantry touching the things in question. If they retract down to nothing, they're probably aiptasia. If they can't retract all the way down to almost nothing (leave a tube behind) they're probably feather dusters.
I'm not convinced that it is aiptasia. It looks like they come out of tubes, but it doesn't look like feather dusters either.:hmm4:
