funny joker:spin1: That is the second time I took pictures in the tank I'll try now that the lights have been off, that colony pulls back when the lights go off which should expose whatever is on there.

try touching the things in question. If they retract down to nothing, they're probably aiptasia. If they can't retract all the way down to almost nothing (leave a tube behind) they're probably feather dusters.

"...but the tube length stayed the same." that does NOT sound like aptasia to me....more likely some kind of tube worm or duster. You can see the tubes much more clearly on your most recent pic post. I don't know of any aptasia that live in calcified 'tubes'....am I wrong? :reading:

Ive been reading and injection is a recomended method of removal. these things are TINY. There is no way I can inject them. should I consider sacrificing my first Zoa colony?

If they have hard tubes, they're not aiptasia. Don't sacrifice your zoas.

The lights were off, I turned them on to take the picture and teh zoos starting coming back up while I was setting up the camera, I'll do another photo session with my new friends tomorrow

The colony is a ball that is glued down to some rubble
