I looked at my tank 3 days ago and found this little thingy. I think its a feather duster but Im not sure. It has a white tail thats stuck on the rock and today I was looking at it and it moves! Well not the whole thing but the little "feathers" moves inside of the white body. Is this a feather duster or is it something else??

Sounds like a duster to me. If something comes along that disturbes it the crown will shoot inside the tube.

How about posting a pic? It would make it a little easier to id. It sounds like a small duster though.

OOoo I gots myself one of dem' fancy dusters...I wonder where it came from. Anyways I tried to take a macro pic but it came out a little blurry heres my try:

Its in the middle of the picture :)

Certainly looks like a feather to me. These little guys sprung up all over my tank for no reason, they seem to spread pretty quickly once you see one.

Are you serious!$@! How awesomeee, I want to see more of em'. Not too many though. What do they do all day? Do they eat? Also if anyone notices those tiny tiny things coming out of my rock, what are they? You can see them clearly on the top right region.

Feather Dusters are just filter feeders, that's what they are doing when they are out, trying to direct particles towards them.
I got Marshall Island Live rock and had a ton on that type of rock.

In the pic do the tiny things move around or do they look like a plant? If they look like a plant it may be some type of macro algae.
