All the way at the back of the store near the liverock is a tank at about belly level with three or four very odd looking red coral like things. Large, about the size of your fist attached to a rock. Anyone been in there? I was going to ask but then got distracted and left without finding out.

I believe what you saw were sea apples.

Very cool looking but as filter feeders they are pretty much doomed to a slow death in aquariums. The really bad news is when they die or are stressed they may release toxins. They are related to sea cucumbers.

I could see them being that.

**edit**

looked them up and those are indeed what they are!

I, too, saw those in Aquaria Studio this weekend. Surprised to see them actually based on their very poor track records in aquariums. Hopefully they're making customers aware of their downfalls...

I kept one for about 2 years in a softy reef. I fed it flakes, phyto, mysis, cyclopeze, and stuff that I could crumble up like that. It died when it explored a powerhead.
