What is the smallest Mantis?

Well, this is kind of stupid question I think. I just setup 3 Gallon Pico Tank. Actually I setup the tank more than few months and I never put any live stocks in it. I can't decide what to put it in.

First I thought I put some corals and one small fish like Clown Goby but it looks so boring.

So I used to have Lion fish in my other tank and I always like some predator.

I was thinking about a mantis but I am not sure if I can put it into such a small tank. If this is possible, 3G tank, which one I can get?

Many smaller mantis can do fine in a 3 gal tank. See Roy's list.

You can probably do a small shrimp goby / pistol shrimp combo -- fun to watch!

I would recommend a small Haptosquilla species such as H. trispinosa or H. glyptocercus. However, any young Gonodactylus below about 2 inches in length should be alright for a year or more. I would not put in anything larger than 1.75 inches.

I had a small Haptosquilla glyptocerus for a while. Very cute, ate mysis out of the water column.
